Andrew Peterson, MS, LMFT, CCTP-II

Andrew has over 25 years of experience in mental health and has been in private practice for over 10 years. He has a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Edgewood College, extensive training in Organizational Psychology, and is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). He works in private practice with individuals, couples, and families and has extensive experience with LGBTQ populations and specific experience working with gender transitioning individuals. He is a member of the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) and practices in accordance with their prescribed international standards. He is a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional II, and his experience includes crisis intervention, forensics, suicide prevention, and victim assistance in cases involving traumatic death. He is expert in the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder using Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and other Trauma-Informed Therapies as well as in the treatment of complicated grief and loss. He is extensively trained in Critical Incident Stress Management, Psychological First Aid and Life Skills Management for First Responders. He is a certified mediator trained in alternative dispute resolution. He is experienced as a life coach, a business coach, and an organizational change management trainer.
