Rebecca Trewyn PMHNP-BC, ANP-BC, RN-BSN

Rebecca is a dual certified nurse practitioner who has been practicing in adult medicine as well as psychiatry for the past 20 years. She has worked in both primary care settings as well as outpatient mental health clinics.

Rebecca received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. She obtained a Master's degree as an Adult Nurse Practitioner from Marian College, Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. Rebecca went on to further her education by obtaining a post-Masters in Psychiatric Mental Health from Rush University and Medical Center, Chicago, Illinois.

Rebecca’s areas of specialty include dual diagnosis, substance use disorders, emotion regulation disorder, anxiety, depression, bipolar, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). She also tries to focus on de-prescribing, movement, and the importance of therapy.

Rebecca’s practice style is one which is anchored in a team based, whole health approach that focuses on building therapeutic relationships, grounded in empathy and trust in a safe and supportive environment. She focuses on meeting people where they are at in their journey towards health, healing, achievement of their goals and well-being.

Rebecca believes behavioral health is just as important as physical health, and without one you cannot achieve the other. She attempts to shift the focus from a reactive disease medical care system/model, to one that prioritizes prevention and healing. Instead of focusing on “what is wrong with you”, she attempts to shift this stigma to one that focuses on, “what happened to you” and “what matters to you now”. She focuses on moving forward while instilling hope every minute along the way in this crazy journey we call life.

Apart from caring for others, Rebecca enjoys walking her dogs, hiking, kayaking, and forming lasting authentic relationships with friends and family.
