Wendy Abel, MSE, LPC

Wendy Abel is a Licensed Professional Counselor and has been in the mental health field for over 25 years. She has a master’s degree in Education from the University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh. Her background includes counseling youth in crisis, supervising a residential treatment center, as well as providing psychotherapy to children, adults, families, and couples in outpatient clinic settings. Her practice is now focused on adults and couples.

Over the last fourteen years, Wendy has developed a strong skill set in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and cherishes the opportunities to guide folks to improve their ability to tolerate stress and learn new ways to regulate their emotions. She is happy to have landed at HealthyMinds where she provides Saturday morning DBT groups and individual therapy.

Wendy is rooted in feminist principles and social justice; she will not shy away from addressing issues pertaining to all identities, or discussing the effects of marginalization, oppression, and othering.
